Bad Faith Claim - $7 million settlement

After obtaining a Judgment against the Defendant for $7.25 million the PlaintiffS claim of wrongful death, the insurance company for the Defendant denied liability coverage with policy limits totaling $1 million. Thereafter, a bad-faith lawsuit was pursued against the insurance company alleging that the insurance company breached the coverage it promised under the policy by failing to defend or settle the underlying wrongful death claim. Ultimately the bad-faith lawsuit was settled with the insurance company for $7 million.
